How Borderless Filings Works

Last updated

Ordering a filing takes six steps: choose a service, complete a secure intake form, pay or approve a fixed quote, let us prepare and file, follow progress in your portal, and get reminders before your next deadline. You deal with BorderlessFilings throughout, and everything about your order stays in one place.

The six steps

  1. Choose a service. Pick a single filing, a starter bundle or a yearly compliance plan from our services or the pricing page. Each service page explains what is included, what the government charges and what we need from you. If you are not sure whether a US LLC or a UK company suits you, try the US LLC or UK Ltd quiz.
  2. Complete the secure intake form. Create your account and answer the questions for your service: company details, owners or directors, addresses and any existing tax IDs. Upload your documents in the same place. Your answers and files are encrypted when we store them.
  3. Pay or approve your fixed quote. Services with a listed price are paid at checkout. Services marked "Get a quote" are priced for your case first; you see a fixed price in your portal and pay only if you accept it. Our fee and the government fee are always shown separately.
  4. We prepare and file. Once payment is confirmed and your intake is complete, our filing partner prepares the filing and we check it. If a form needs your signature, we send it to you in the portal. Then the filing is submitted to the agency by the method that agency accepts (online, fax or mail).
  5. Track everything in your portal. Your order moves through clear statuses, from "In progress" to "Submitted" to "Completed". Messages, documents and invoices are all in the portal, and you get an email when the status changes or we send you a message.
  6. Get deadline reminders. Add your company to the portal and we set up reminders for its recurring filings, such as the Form 5472, state annual report, confirmation statement or accounts. By default we email you 60, 30, 7 and 1 day before each deadline.

What the client portal does

The portal is your private area on our site. You sign in with your email and password, and you can:

  • see every order, its current status and a dated history of what happened;
  • send and receive messages about an order, with an email alert when we reply;
  • upload documents securely and download the documents we deliver, such as formation certificates, IRS letters and filed returns;
  • view invoices, pay by PayPal (including card checkout through PayPal), or report a bank transfer, Wise or Payoneer payment;
  • approve quotes for services priced on request;
  • add your companies and see their upcoming deadlines, and turn email reminders on or off.

Our security page explains how the portal protects your documents.

How quotes work

Some services depend on details we cannot know in advance, such as the number of transactions for a Form 5472 or the size of a set of accounts. These show "Get a quote" instead of a price.

  1. You place the order and complete the intake form as usual. You pay nothing at this point.
  2. Your order shows "Awaiting quote" while we review your answers.
  3. We set a fixed price in your portal, with our fee and any government fee shown separately, and email you.
  4. If you accept, you pay the invoice and work starts. If you do not, you can simply leave it or ask us to cancel the order.

A fixed quote does not change once you have paid, unless you change the scope of the work (for example, by adding another state or another tax year), in which case we ask you first.

How long it takes

Our part starts as soon as your payment is confirmed and your intake form and documents are complete. PayPal payments confirm straight away. Bank transfer, Wise and Payoneer payments are matched by hand, which usually takes one business day.

After submission, the timing is up to the agency. Processing times differ between the IRS, each US state, Companies House and HMRC, and they change during busy periods. Each service page shows the processing times the agency publishes, with a link to the source. We cannot speed up an agency or promise a date it has not published, but we tell you as soon as anything comes back.

What we need from you

  • Accurate, complete answers in the intake form. You are responsible for the truth of what is filed, so check your answers carefully.
  • Clear copies of the documents the service lists, uploaded through the portal. Usually this is a passport or other ID and, for some services, proof of address, company documents or financial records.
  • Signatures on forms that must be signed by you, returned through the portal.
  • Quick replies when we ask a question. Orders marked "Waiting on you" pause until we hear back.
  • An email address you check, so order updates and reminders reach you.

How to reach us

If you have an account, send a message from your portal. It keeps the conversation with your order and is the only safe way to share documents or tax ID numbers. If you have not ordered yet, email support@borderlessfilings.com or use the contact form.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create an account to order?

Yes. The account gives you a private portal where you upload documents, pay, track your order and receive your filed documents. Creating one is free and you pay nothing until you check out or accept a quote.

What happens if my order is waiting on me?

Work pauses until we have what we need. The portal message explains what is missing, and you get an email about it. Reply or upload the item in the portal and we continue from where we stopped.

Can I turn off deadline reminders?

Yes. You can switch email reminders off in your portal at any time and turn them back on later. Reminders are a courtesy: the legal duty to file on time stays with you and your company.

Ready when you are. See every price, with government fees shown separately.
